The Diaspora Day

The Diaspora Day took place on February 11, 2012, two days before the Triennale. The objective of the event was to engage the African Diaspora to reflect on how it maycontribute to improving education and training systems in order for them to become effective tools for skills development.

The Diaspora day ended with concrete proposals including the creation of national frameworks that would facilitate interaction with the Diaspora; the development of an inventory of the Diaspora’s skills in science, technology, research and training and the creation of a Diaspora fund that would finance development initiatives.
