The film tells the story of Joseph, who dropped out of school in 8th Grade and became a “taxi-moto” in Cotonou. Five years ago, Joseph participated in the first phase of a vocational training project developed by the Foundation Paul-GérinLajoie in partnership with the government of Benin and the city of Cotonou. As a result of the training, Joseph now successfully manages his own farm, markets the farm’s produce and has become a model for other young people. He is now a trainer for the “Programme de formation et d’intégration de jeunes à l’emploi” (PFIJE), helping young people to acquire skills that will enable them to find jobs or to become entrepreneurs, and therefore improve their livelihoods and integration in society.
