General Visa Information 

Visitors to Ghana require a visa except for nationals of African countries and countries that have signed special agreements with Ghana. Furthermore, to enter Ghana, a valid passport is mandatory. Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Ghana and must have at least six blank pages. A national identity card is sufficient for ECOWAS nationals.

The Ministry of Education, Ghana is interested in facilitating the visas on behalf of participants facing challenges. Where there are embassies, participants are encouraged to apply through the embassies, which is a standard practice.

Health Information

Before traveling to Ghana, please ensure you have an international vaccination card, and your vaccines are up to date. This includes yellow fever vaccination card, especially for nationals of African countries. Please make an appointment with your primary care physician at least one week before your trip to obtain the necessary information on travel-related vaccines, health, and traveler safety. This is particularly important if you are taking long-term medication.

Presently, the Ghana Health Service has announced that Ghana has recently recorded 27 new Mpox cases. As Mpox is mainly transmitted through close contact with an infected person, so the public has been advised to remain alert, practice good hygiene, and seek immediate medical attention if they experience any of the symptoms (which include fever, headache, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, and skin rashes).
